How can the TCU benefit the teacher?
Students studying
  • Teachers can make use of courseware online and the Learning Resource Sharing centre to improve the content of their courses or as supplementary material for their students. The e-Library is an excellent research tool and can be used for reference by the students. Teachers will need to register with the TCU to use these services.

  • The TCU offers the teacher a chance to experiment with creating courses for distance learning. The LMS has two sections, official and experimental. They can upload courses that they want to test into the experimental zone. In this way they can learn from their mistakes in a safe environment.
  • Teachers that have created online courses can host them through the TCU. The Learning management system (LMS) has a system to manage fee collection if the course is not free. For more information, contact the Office of Information Technology Administration for Educational Development (TCU) Tel. 02 354 5678.

How to participate in the TCU
Nurses studying online
  • If you want to try putting a course online in the experimental zone, you need to register as a teacher in the LMS. Go to the TCU website and enter the e-classroom. Please make sure that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • If a teacher wishes to make a course that the students must pay for, then this must be approved by the quality control unit of the TCU. Please contact the TCU to find out more.
